Wi-Fi

You can connect the camera to a Wi-Fi network or let the camera provide Wi-Fi access to other devices, such as a mobile phone or tablet.

The Wi-Fi functionality is managed on the Settings menu. You can also enable/disable Wi-Fi on the Quick menu.

Connect the camera to Wi-Fi

You can connect the camera to a Wi-Fi network as part of the initial setup of the camera. You can also connect the camera at any time via the Settings menu.

To connect to Wi-Fi via the Settings menu, do the following:

  1. On the Settings menu, select Connections > Wi-Fi.

  2. Select Wi-Fi = On.

  3. Select one of the available networks.

Note
  • Password-protected networks are indicated with a padlock icon, and for these you will need to enter a password the first time you connect to the network. After that the camera will connect automatically to the network. To disable the automatic connection, select the network in the list and then select Forget network.

  • Some networks do not broadcast their existence. They appear in the list as Untitled. To connect to such a network, you will be prompted to enter additional parameters.

  • To enable/disable the camera firewall, select Settings > Connections > Advanced > Global firewall. It is recommended to keep the camera firewall enabled. Only disable the firewall when experiencing problems connecting to legacy applications.

Set up the camera as a wireless access point

  1. On the Settings menu, select Connections > Wi-Fi > Share.

  2. To display and change the parameters, select Share settings.

    • To change the name of the network, select Network name (SSID).

    • To change the password, select Password .

    Note

    The network name and password will be used by the external device to connect to the camera network.

    • Use the Shared network firewall switch to enable/disable the firewall for the camera network.

      Note

      To enable/disable the camera firewall, select Connections > Advanced > Global firewall.

Bluetooth

You can use the camera with a Bluetooth-enabled headset, to record voice annotations. If supported by your mobile phone, you can also share the phone’s internet connection with the camera via Bluetooth.

The Bluetooth functionality is managed on the Settings menu. You can also enable/disable Bluetooth on the Quick menu.

Pair Bluetooth devices

  1. On the Settings menu, select Connections > Bluetooth.

  2. Select Bluetooth = On.

    Note

    You also need to ensure that the external Bluetooth device is in visible mode.

    On the mobile phone, you must make sure that Bluetooth is enabled, that the phone is in discovery mode, and that Bluetooth tethering is enabled.

  3. Select Available devices.

  4. Wait until a list of available Bluetooth devices is displayed.

  5. Select a device to begin the pairing procedure.

Cloud connectivity

FLIR Ignite is a cloud storage service for thermal images and videos. With FLIR Ignite, you can upload image and video files, including Quantification and Multi-Rec files, from your camera to your FLIR Ignite account, allowing you to access the files from a computer or mobile device whenever you need to.

With FLIR Ignite you can edit images and create basic reports. You can also share files with colleagues and clients and invite team members to work in the same folder and files.

FLIR Ignite also includes a PC–based application called FLIR Ignite Sync that allows you to sync your image library with your computer. This gives you easy access to images when creating reports in FLIR Thermal Studio or other post-processing software.

Setup

You can set up the camera to upload image and video files to FLIR Ignite.

If automatic upload is enabled, new images and videos will automatically be uploaded to the FLIR Ignite account. You can also upload files manually from the Gallery.

To be able to upload files, you need to connect the camera to the internet and pair the camera with a FLIR Ignite account.

Pair with FLIR Ignite

  1. Make sure the camera is connected to the internet.

  2. On the Settings menu, select FLIR Ignite.

  3. Start the pairing procedure by selecting Sign in.

  4. Use a computer or other device with internet access and go to the website displayed on the camera screen.

  5. On the website, enter the code displayed on the camera screen.

  6. Sign in to your FLIR Ignite account.

Automatic upload

You can set up the camera to automatically upload image and video files to your FLIR Ignite account.

When automatic upload is enabled, new images and videos will automatically be uploaded when the camera is connected to the internet and paired with FLIR Ignite.

To enable automatic upload, do the following:

  1. Make sure the camera is paired with your FLIR Ignite account.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • On the Quick menu, tap the Auto upload button.

    • On the Settings menu, select FLIR Ignite > Auto upload = On.

Manual upload

You can manually upload files and folders from the Gallery when the camera is paired with a FLIR Ignite account and connected to the internet.

You can monitor the upload progress at the top of the Gallery.

Note

Before uploading, make sure that:

  • The camera is connected to the internet.

  • The camera is paired with a FLIR Ignite account.

Upload a file

  1. Open the file in the Gallery.

  2. Push the joystick or tap the screen to display the top toolbar.

  3. On the top toolbar, select .

  4. On the right toolbar, select .

Upload multiple files

  1. Go to a folder in the Gallery.

  2. On the top toolbar, select .

  3. Select the files you want to upload.

  4. On the right toolbar, select .

Upload folders

  1. Go to the top level in the Gallery.

  2. On the top toolbar, select .

  3. Select the folders you want to upload.

  4. On the right toolbar, select .

Access FLIR Ignite

You can access FLIR Ignite from a browser on your desktop, tablet, or mobile device.

To access FLIR Ignite, go to https://ignite.flir.com.

Camera web interface

Via the camera web interface, you can download files from the camera to a computer over a local network.

Connect the camera to the local network

  1. On the Settings menu, select Connections > Wi-Fi > Connect to network > Available networks.

  2. Select one of the available networks.

  3. When connected, select the network again. This displays information about the connection, including the IP address of the camera.

Download files

  1. In the camera web interface, go to the Library tab.

  2. On the left toolbar, select Card #1. This displays the folders and files on the camera memory card. You can download one or multiple files to your computer.

    Note

    When downloading multiple files, a pop-up window appears. Make sure it is not blocked by your web browser.
